The Early Days...

Kai was born in St Asaph on the 4th of September 1975, and was raised by his parents in the beautiful town of Llanrwst, which is in the heart of the picturesque Conwy Valley in North Wales. All of Kai’s family come from and still live in Llanrwst, and some of Kai’s best mates live and work there.

Kai went to school at ‘Ysgol Dyffryn Conwy’ and has nothing but happy memories of his time in school, “I loved school, I had such a fantastic time, I made mates for life there and I still see them now, I was a member of the school football team and most things to do with sport, I played football everyday, If I had the time I’d play it everyday now too!!”

As well as football and sports Kai had a natural confidence to perform or “show off” as he says, often playing the class clown Kai quickly became involved with the school drama group and staged many a production with them.

“ I remember doing the musical “Oliver”, I played “Fagin” and had such a ball, I kind of got hooked on the buzz then”, And with the guidance of teachers Joy Ostle and George Lloyd Kai embarked on a three year Acting and Musical course at Mountview Theatre school in London.

“Without the help and support of my school teachers Joy Ostle and George Lloyd, I would probably still be in Llanrwst working in the butchers! I am so grateful to them”.
